New footage from Rob Zombie’s reboot of The Munsters shows the director heading to 1313 Mockingbird Lane, the family’s iconic mansion.
A new video from the set of the next Rob Zombie film munsters the reboot shows the director walking down Mockingbird Lane. 55 years later The Munsters finished its two seasons on CBS, Zombie has confirmed that he is officially working on one of his longtime passion projects, The Munsters. The film is set to be released later this year, starring Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman Munster, Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily, and Daniel Roebuck as Grandpa. The Munsters the reboot will also feature several new characters, including Sylvester McCoy’s Igor, Cassandra “Elvira” Peterson as Barbara Carr, and Jorge Gacia as Floop.
the original munsters series broadcast in the 60s with Fred Gwynne (Herman), Yvonne de Carlo (Lily), Al Lewis (Grandfather), Butch Patrick (Eddie) and Pat Priest and Beverly Owen (Marilyn). The family lived at 1313 Mockingbird Lane, and a running joke throughout the series was that the Munsters were always confused by the fact that their neighbors were afraid of them. The Munsters will once again be living at 1313 Mockingbird Lane for the Zombie reboot, and when building the set, the director made it clear he was trying to make the exterior look like it was in the 60s.
Like The Munsters continues production, Zombie is keeping fans up to date by sharing a new video from the set. The short video shows a few other houses the team has built as Zombie makes his way to the Munsters’ house. The director’s original message can be seen below:

Zombie has shared more photos from the set than videos, but this isn’t the first glimpse fans have had of 1313 Mockingbird Lane. The director delighted fans by sharing continued updates and photos of the construction team’s work on the Munsters mansion and surrounding homes. Zombie has been very engaged with fans throughout the development and production of The Munsterssharing dozens of set photos from inside and outside 1313 Mockingbird Lane as well as plenty of shots of the cast in their spooky costumes.
While updates on The Munsters are always well received by fans, many can’t wait to see the first trailer for the film. With With the film slated for release this fall on Peacock, Universal is expected to begin rolling out the marketing campaign in the coming months. However, the production is not finished The Munsters, so it could be a while before a trailer is released. Given the horror atmosphere of The Munstersthe film will likely be released in October, but fans will have to settle for photos and video for now.
