Video shows “hundreds of rats” outside Ark’s gas station.

LEHI, Ark. – New video shows more rodents spotted outside a gas station along Highway 70 in Crittenden County, Arkansas.

A stunned John Roe, who lives about 20 miles from the gas station in rural Crittenden County, pulled out his phone to record the video. It shows rodents having fun outside a Valero gas station on US-70 in Lehi.

“I looked right and right of the diesel tanks, there were hundreds of rats going back and forth, jumping in and out of the van,” Roe said.

He said he spent hundreds of dollars a week at the store and had a popular grocery store. This is the only way for some people to get hot food quickly.

“It’s sad. It’s something to be worried about,” Roe said.

With the chaos surrounding the rodent infestation at the soon-to-be-closed Family Dollar warehouse in West Memphis, Roe thinks the rodents might find a new location.

“It could most definitely be the same rats,” Roe said. “There is only a few miles difference between Lehi and there. A forehand from fair fields.

We went inside the gas station for answers. A clerk told us about 50 rodents were discovered under a tarp in the back recently, but said none had ever entered the store and the owner had alerted pest control.

They think the rodents are coming from the fields behind the store.

With a produce store next door, travelers are constantly coming and going. Roe wants everything cleaned up to protect his family and his community.

“I hope they really do something about it or close the doors,” he said.

A clerk inside the store said pest control would be there Thursday.

The Arkansas Department of Health said it was not aware of any complaints, but would now investigate the matter.
